Physical Sciences Chemistry Track (AS)
The Chemistry track of the Physical Sciences A.S. program will provide you with the foundation you need to transfer to a four-year institution and complete a four-year degree in chemistry. It will prepare you for further advanced study in chemistry as well as use of chemistry in a future career path.
This degree is designed as a transfer program toward an advanced degree. Graduates often pursue bachelor's degree programs in chemistry, biochemistry, or a number of related fields.
Many of the degree's courses are taught in the Science Center, which includes 25 state-of-the-art laboratories and a Science Study Center.
This program is offered by the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department.

Career and Transfer Opportunities

After completing an advanced degree, graduates can pursue a wide variety of careers in fields related to the physical sciences.

Here are median salaries taken from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (as of 2017): Chemists and Materials Scientists, $106,240; Geoscientists, $66,610; Physical Scientist, $97,130. Advanced degrees may be required.

Recent graduates have continued their education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and The University at Albany.
