International Students

To apply, the first step is to submit an online admissions application and your academic documents by the following dates:

• Spring (mid-January) semester start: September 15 Deadline
• Fall (late-August) semester start: February 1 Deadline

NOTE: Hudson Valley Community College will consider all applications received after these dates on a rolling basis.

How to Apply

Incoming students must display proficiency in English by either:

• taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and obtaining a minimum score of 61 on the ibT or;
• taking the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and obtaining a minimum score of 6.0 on the overall band.

Community colleges are affordable, inclusive and a smart way to begin your college experience. Many students in the United States complete their first two years of college at a community college like Hudson Valley, and earn an Associate Degree (usually 60-68 credits). They can then transfer to a four-year college or university to complete their bachelor’s degrees and/or begin working with skills already acquired.

Hudson Valley Community College does not offer on-campus student housing, but there are many off-campus housing options for students located near campus.

NOTE: Free unlimited ridership is available on Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) buses for all registered and paid students. CDTA operates buses throughout the Capital Region and students who are searching for housing may wish to consider its proximity to CDTA bus lines.
