The Worksite Health Promotion certificate program covers nutrition, exercise training concepts, weight management, stress reduction and other topics that provide a foundation for those who are interested in working in wellness promotion. Coursework will increase your knowledge in the areas of fitness, nutrition and overall health promotion and disease prevention.

Worksite health promotion can have a substantial impact on health care costs, absenteeism, workers compensation costs and productivity. Many employers today regard workplace wellness programs as an effective tool to contain health care costs, and therefore a good business strategy.

As employee workout centers and wellness classes become part of many corporate and organizational cultures, qualified health promotion professionals are needed to create, operate and oversee these programs.

The certificate is offered through the Health, Physical Education and Exercise Studies Department.
