CASAC-T Educational Core II (Microcredential)
The CASAC-T is the recognized credential for those who wish to work in New York State as a substance abuse counselor.
The CASAC-T Educational Core II microcredential focuses on providing advanced skills in chemical dependency treatment and provides you with an internship in an approved OASAS setting and seminar.
The internship will consist of 168 hours which can be applied to the required clock hours needed for the CASAC licensing exam. The experience further assists students in developing professionalism while working in the parameters of a licensed treatment facility. Students will further develop skills related to assessments, intakes and treatment planning.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to develop/describe and explain various treatment plans associated with treating people with addictions. Additionally, students will be able to display their previously acquired treatment/assessment-based skills from previous course work.
