The Dental Hygiene Department is one of the original allied health education departments at the college.
Programs
The Dental Hygiene Department offers the following degree and certificate programs:
Dental Assisting Certificate
This online program prepares those who are new to the profession to perform a variety of tasks in dental offices, including sterilization of instruments, setting up dental materials and office duties. You will be ready to enter the workforce immediately following graduation and have satisfied all requirements set by New York State to become a Licensed Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). The college also offers an Alternative Dental Assisting Program (ADAP) for those who are currently working in the field who have more than 3,500 hours of work experience and CPR certification.Dental Hygiene A.A.S.
One of the original health science programs at the college, the program prepares you to become a qualified Licensed Dental Hygienist. Course material is divided between theory and technique, and utilizes modern laboratory and clinical facilities. This program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).

All of these courses are approved by New York State for Continuing Education Units. - Student Chapter of the American Dental Hygienists' Association
