Hudson Valley and Syracuse administrators sign transfer agreement

Hudson Valley Community College and Syracuse University’s College of Professional Studies today announced the signing of an agreement that creates educational pathways for Hudson Valley graduates to earn a Syracuse University degree.

The partnership gives Hudson Valley graduates another transfer option for those seeking fully online undergraduate programs. The College of Professional Studies provides online bachelor of professional studies and master of professional studies degrees, as well as a range of professional certifications.

As part of the agreement, eligible credits earned in an associate degree at Hudson Valley will be applied toward a bachelor’s degree at the College of Professional Studies, saving students time and money.

“This new transfer agreement provides more opportunities for our graduates to earn bachelor’s degrees in a format that works for them, regardless of their schedules,” said Hudson Valley Community College Officer in Charge Louis Coplin. “This partnership is an excellent opportunity for graduates to continue their studies in selected fields at a well-known and prestigious institution after they finish their time at Hudson Valley.”

The College of Professional Studies’ online undergraduate programs serve a geographically-diverse population and those who may be juggling multiple commitments in life. Coursework generally includes asynchronous learning, often combined with a required weekly meeting time that allows faculty and fellow students to interact and ask questions.

“Creating pathways for people at all stages of their educational and professional journeys is vital in today’s ever-changing employment landscape,” said Jim Gaffey, executive director of administration and strategy at the College of Professional Studies. “We are proud to partner with Hudson Valley Community College to provide even more opportunities for their graduates to explore.”

Syracuse University College of Professional Studies degree programs include undergraduate degrees in business management, computer programming, applied data/predictive analytics, cybersecurity administration, healthcare administration, interdisciplinary studies, and more.
