Hudson Valley Community College Voted “Best College” in the Capital Region
April 25, 2024
Hudson Valley Community College was voted “Best College” in the Times Union 2024 Best of the Capital Region annual readers’ choice poll. This marks the first time that Hudson Valley or any other community college has earned the highest honor in the annual competition.
In a poll started over 25 years ago, voters nominate their local favorites in more than 100 different categories. This year, more than 9,500 people sent in nominations which were then narrowed to five finalists per category. Voting to determine the winners ran from Monday, Feb. 19 through Friday, March 1.
“I am overjoyed that the Capital Region has named Hudson Valley Community College as the best college in the area,” said President Roger Ramsammy. “Our region is fortunate to have more than 20 exceptional colleges and universities, and we take great pride in being recognized for our service to the community in this year’s Times Union reader poll. Thanks specifically to our many students, employees, alumni, donors, friends and partners who voted and give so much to the college every day.”
Ramsammy continued, “For more than 70 years, Hudson Valley has provided exceptional opportunities and resources to its students and employers. The college is now the largest community college in Upstate New York and the second largest in our region. Hudson Valley is stronger than ever and remains clearly focused on delivering what the future demands and increasing access and high-quality education and workforce training.”
