Shakespeare & Company’s “Romeo & Juliet” at HVCC on Monday, April 17

Free, noontime program rescheduled after cancellation on Feb. 23.

Members of the renowned Lenox, MA-based Shakespeare & Company will perform “Romeo and Juliet,” the Bard’s classic tale of tragic love, at noon on Monday, April 17, at the Maureen Stapleton Theatre on Hudson Valley Community College’s Troy campus. The 110-minute performance (including a Q&A session) is part of the company’s educational touring program and is recommended for ages 12 and up.

The story of the ill-fated romance of two young lovers, “Romeo and Juliet” endures as one of William Shakespeare’s most popular plays. This performance, usually the culmination of Shakespeare & Company’s annual, week-long residency with students enrolled in HVCC’s Theatre Arts Program, was rescheduled after a snowstorm necessitated the cancellation in February.
