Hudson Valley Community College’s Department of Athletics and Veteran Resource and Outreach Center (VET-ROC) will host the 3rd Annual Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 during the Viking football team’s home opener against Nassau Community College.

A Veteran Appreciation Luncheon from 12:30 - 2 p.m. will be held for all active military personnel, veterans and their families prior to the start of the game. The luncheon BBQ, catered by Troy’s Dinosaur BBQ, will take place under the Joe Bruno Stadium Pavilion, located adjacent to the Outdoor Athletic Complex and the football field.

Kick-off for the game is at 2 p.m.

During halftime, the Athletics Department will honor all Veterans in attendance and present the inaugural Military Appreciation Award to Anthony Guadagnino, owner of Veteran Made Woodworks in Melrose and a Marine Corps Veteran still serving in the Army Reserves.

“We believe Anthony is an outstanding member of the Rensselaer County Veteran community with all that he does for both the military and for the local community through his business,” said Daniel Wargo, coordinator of the Veteran Resource and Outreach Center at HVCC.

All Veterans must pre-register using the Event Registration Form or by calling the VET-ROC office at (518) 629-7529, as well as show documentation that verifies their Veteran/Military status upon arrival at the game.
