Respiratory Care Program Receives Distinguished Credentialing Award
June 19, 2020
For the second consecutive year, the Hudson Valley Community College Respiratory Care program has received the Distinguished RRT Credentialing Award from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
CoARC is the accrediting body for all academic programs that educate Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT).
Hudson Valley’s Respiratory Care program was among a select group of programs from across the country that met the standards for the award. Programs that were honored this year must have ongoing accreditation status and must document a credentialing success rate of 90 percent or better for its graduates as well as meet other criteria for program success and student retention.
For the past decade, the college’s Respiratory Care associate degree program has had a 100 percent pass rate on the entry level Certified Respiratory Therapist credentialing exam and 97 percent of graduates have obtained the advanced level RRT credential.
