Public Skating Begins at Conway Ice Rink

The Conway Ice Rink at Hudson Valley Community College opens for the 2017-18 season on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. Admission is free on opening weekend.
The 18,000 square foot rink, located in the McDonough Sports Complex, offers recreational skating for all ages from 4 to 6:15 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The season runs through Sunday, March 11, 2018.
The rink will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 22 – Friday Nov. 24; Sunday, Dec. 24 – Monday, Dec. 25; and Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017 – Monday, Jan 1, 2018. In the event that Hudson Valley classes are cancelled, the ice rink will also be closed.
Extended holiday hours during the holiday week are noon to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26 - Friday, Dec. 29, 2017.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Currently Hudson Valley students can skate for free with a valid student ID, and admission for Hudson Valley faculty, staff and alumni who present a current Hudson Valley ID or membership card is $2. Groups of 10 or more can receive a $1 per person discount with advance notice.
The skate shop at the arena offers 200 pairs of high-quality, well-maintained skates for rental. Sizes range from a toddler's size 6 to women's size 11 and men's size 14. Rentals are $3 per pair. The skate shop also offers skate sharpening for $5.
Snacks and beverages are available from vending machines or visitors may bring their own. There is free parking in front of the McDonough Sports Complex.
Skating classes for children are offered through the Office of Community and Professional Education, a separate entity from the skate shop. For information on enrolling in a class, please call (518) 629-7339.
