College Celebrates Women's History Month with an Evening of Stories, Awards and Music

"Women of Character, Courage & Commitment" will be remembered and honored during an Our Stories: Edu-Drama on Friday, March 4 at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. The event will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium.

The Sisters Incynch 21st century "Phenomenal Women" award will be presented to Dr. Carolyn Curtis, vice president for academic affairs at the college, and Jane Golub, director of in-store marketing programs for Market 32/Price Chopper supermarkets. The Edu-Drama, directed by Professor Tamu Chambers, will feature a panel of five women, who each will share a story related to their heritage or background: African American, Gay and Lesbian, German, Jewish and Latino. Members of Sister Incynch also will pay homage to Maya Angelou. The evening will include refreshments, prizes and music by Funk in the Trunk (DJ Rebecka Bombard).
