Arrest on Campus
October 8, 2015
This morning, a vigilant student notified Public Safety of a .22 caliber rifle visible in the backseat of a car parked in H lot near Williams Hall. Public Safety immediately located and arrested the student who owned the rifle. The student was then charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds, a class E felony and will be arraigned in North Greenbush Town Court later today.
While the student was cooperative, stating the rifle was used for target practice, the college community should be reminded that weapons of any kind are prohibited on campus. At no time was there any threat present, made, or implied to harm others.
