College Names John Braungard of Latham as Comptroller

Hudson Valley Community College has announced that Latham resident John Braungard has been named the college's comptroller.

In his new position, Braungard will be responsible for the fiscal operations and supervision of personnel in a variety of financial services departments in the college's administration, including accounts payable/receivable, contracts and grants, payroll, banking and investments and the Cashier's Office.

He served as the college bursar for more than 10 years, supervising the staff of the Cashier's Office. Prior to working as bursar, Braungard was an assistant for financial analysis at the college.

He received his M.B.A. with a concentration in information technology from the University at Albany, where he also received a bachelor's degree in computer science and applied mathematics. He also earned a B.S. degree in accounting from Le Moyne College.
