Affirmative Action
The offices of Affirmative Action and Human Resources are responsible to ensure that the college complies with federal and state Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations and college policies.
It ensures that students, faculty and staff receive immediate redress if they believe that they have been a victim of violations of Equal Employment Opportunity laws and policies because of their race, sex, religion, national origin, disability or sexual orientation.
Affirmative Action Policy
It is the policy of Hudson Valley Community College to provide equal opportunity in education, employment and upward mobility for all qualified persons, to prohibit discrimination in employment and education because of age, gender, race or color, national origin, religion, disabling condition, marital status, or sexual orientation. Through a positive, continuing, result-oriented program of affirmative action throughout the College. This policy includes but is not limited to, requirements of Federal Executive Orders 11246 and 11375 as amended, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972m 503, and 504 Regulations of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
In support of this policy, the College affirms its right and responsibility to take appropriate action if it or other duly constituted authorities should determine that applicable federal and state equal employment opportunity laws and regulations have been violated, or that the effect and intent of their policies have been willfully and/or habitually violated.

This form must be filled out to file an Equal Opportunity Complaint of Discrimination or Sexual Harassment that is based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin or disability, veteran’s status, age, sexual orientation, marital status or any category protected by civil statute or regulation.
Submit this form to the Office of Affirmative Action and Human Resources in Administration Building, Room 140.
