The LAC is staffed by education specialists, professional tutors and peer tutors who provide small group and one-on-one instruction in math, learning strategies and other content areas. NOTE: One-on-one instruction is not a private tutoring session.
The LAC also provides activities and programs designed to help students increase their confidence and independence as they work to develop their academic skills. Instructional support programs and services are available to all students.

Math
The LAC provides the support necessary for all students enrolled in math courses - addressing content from arithmetic through calculus during its regular hours.
Students have the opportunity to get instruction in math study skills, concepts ranging from numeric skills to logs, and a variety of other areas.

Learning Strategies
The LAC provides instruction to help students develop and apply learning strategies, study strategies and skills for academic success.
Instruction focuses on a range of topics including test taking, study skills, note taking and developing transferable learning strategies. Services are provided through a variety of methods that include workshops, one-on-one and small group assistance.
Our services include the following:
Reviewing study skills for specific courses
Assisting with time management
Teaching lecture note taking
Introducing test-taking strategies
Demonstrating memory improvement techniques
Teaching textbook reading, note taking, and marking
Helping to build vocabulary
Conducting workshops on learning strategy topics
